The Navigation Hanging Light, with a special optic lens that intensifies the light, is an adaptation of Early American Nantucket ships working and anchor lights. The original lens was clear. Colored lenses (port - red, starboard - green) did not exist until the late 19th century. Ceiling canopy measures 5" diameter by 1.5" high.
